Introduction:
Foundations in Faith
Welcome to our School of Discipleship. This Intro course is called Foundations in Faith. It’s purpose is to establish healthy roots in the principles which form our Christian faith and the activities that shape our life in Christ.
Our first course is Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. In it we will examine the creation, temptation and fall of humanity and God’s redeeming response to our fall.
Our second class, The Holy Bible, provides a brief overview of how the Scriptures came to be in their present form and what happens as we read, study and store God’s word in our hearts.
Our third class, Whole and Holy, examines God’s command to be holy, His promise to make us holy and the necessity of our cooperation in confronting sin in our lives.
Our fourth class, Royal Priests, examines God’s priestly calling to each of us.
Our fifth class, The Purposed Life, presents the wonderful truth that God designed each of us and gifted us so that through us He may express a unique aspect of His purpose on earth.
Our sixth class, Created to Worship, discusses the essential reason for our being — to worship God — and what comprises true worship.
Our seventh series of classes will be a study of The Person and Attributes of God.
Our eighth series will focus on the Life and Ministry of Jesus.
We will close with a brief study of the church and the ordinances of baptism and holy communion.
Our goal in this track, as with all the School of Discipleship, is not merely to learn about our salvation, though that in itself is of great value. More than that, we desire to grow in the grace and knowledge and likeness of our Savior. As we focus our hearts and minds on Jesus, He progressively conforms us to His heart and mind. This is, after all, the goal of discipleship — to become like our Lord.
